Mowing has begun – range closed on Wednesdays while the gate sign says “closed” (usually until ~ 2pm)
The gravel project is complete – speed limit of 10 mph STRICTLY enforced!
1) The EC has coordinated with the Watauga County Soil and Conservation Agency for clean up of Meat Camp Creek. Plan on seeing these crews the week of 19-23 May. They have permission to stage vehicles on the Archery field and Bay 1. Work on the creek will close the 300M range at some point.

Fellow WGC Members: We’re pleased to announce the popular Memorial Day “Vintage Military Match” will again take place at Watauga Gun Club. As in the past, we’ll have matches for antique military rifles, and 1911 Pistols. We’ll also have fun shoots for military training rifles and for muzzleloaders. Last year, we inaugurated a match for modern military rifles- it was so popular that we will again have that match as well.
Most importantly we will have a session of tribute to our fallen military veterans who have given their lives for our nation’s freedoms. This will include a 3-shot volley in their honor.
Due to the damages to the club facilities, there will be no picnic following this year’s event.
Range Hours – 8AM to 8PM except Wednesday (8AM tp 6PM) and Sunday (1PM to 6PM) – open year round.
